SPRT 4085 3.00 Advanced Sport Law and Athlete Representation

This course builds on the introductory course Sport and the Legal Environment to explore at a more advanced level the many fascinating legal issues governing professional sports.  Topics to be examined include professional sports collective bargaining, player representation and advocacy, player salary arbitrations, player discipline, anti-trust issues in professional sports, salary caps, among other issues.  Professionals working in the field of sports law will visit the class to discuss their pathways to careers in professional sports business and law.
