Sociological Research Methods

This course provides an introduction to sociological research methods. It gives an overview of both qualitative and quantitative approaches used in sociological inquiry. Students will learn key principles of research design, critical thinking and interpretation of different kinds of data, construction and administration of data collection instruments, as well as ethical considerations. The course prepares students for upper-level courses in research design and empirical methods.
