Examines the processes through which cultural identities have formed in Canada, encompassing local to transnational forms of cultural belonging. Building on cultural sociology and related theories of culture, power and agency as well as diaspora and cultural belonging, the course offers a combination of advanced theoretical discussion and in-depth case studies.
