Culture, Health and Power
Analyses health as a distinctively modern political value and examines its social and cultural effects.Investigates relations between health and social power by examining cultural representations of health and the social effects of local, national and global health governance. Possible topics include health, fitness and consumer culture (Bourdieu), global health and capital (Hardt and Negri), and biopolitics and genetic medicine (Foucault).
