Nature, Culture, Power: The Anthropology of Environment
What is nature? How is it kept apart from culture? How do anthropologists analyze environmental destruction and climate change? This course explores these questions from an anthropological perspective. It draws on examples from across the globe to examine cultural practices, ideologies and discourses that result in environmental loss and focuses on local struggles that fight for environmental justice.
