Veronica Javier
Veronica Javier is a Registered Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work and specializations in nephrology, chronic disease management, palliative care, community engagement and advocacy.
Veronica works with an equity, anti-racism lens and intersectionality framework. Veronica has over 15 years of community-based social work experience including in healthcare and youth-led organizations; with specializations in chronic disease management, palliative care, community engagement and advocacy. She is also Adjunct Professor with the School of Social Work, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies at York University.
Veronica’s community work highlights include being a member of the Kidney Foundation, Ontario Branch, Government Relations Committee; a Board of Director with both the Kababayan Multicultural Centre and the Migrants Resource Centre Canada.
Veronica is also a community organizer and one of the founding members of the Filipino-Canadian Social and Community Workers Network (FCSCWN). She organizes with fellow social work practitioners, educators and community workers across the country around issues affecting Filipinos in Canada.
