Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) Spec. Honours and Director of Outreach for the Public Policy and Administration Student Association (PPASA)

My name is Patricia Cobarrubias and I am currently in my second year in the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) program. I have always been passionate about student leadership all throughout high school in my roles as Student Council Vice President as well as being a Student Director for the Toronto Catholic District School Board. The subjects of law, justice, and governance never failed to capture my attention and were definitely where I excelled. With that being said, it was no surprise that I found the program to be the perfect fit and got involved with the Public Policy and Administration Student Association (PPASA) as a Junior Ambassador in my first year. Currently, I am the Director of Outreach. This role has opened so many doors and opportunities have come my way. The networking events and professional skill-building workshops that the program provides have definitely enhanced my interpersonal and interpersonal skills. In addition, being in this program has enlightened, educated, and challenged my knowledge regarding the public service. Through my engagement with PPASA, I have gained a deeper sense of appreciation and understanding towards public sector servants along with the work that they do for our society.

This program is fantastic because there is so much to learn about, and just as many resources of support to learn from as well. The BPA program is overflowing with notable professors and alumni that are more than willing to mentor, lend a helping hand, and share words of wisdom from previous experiences to students. This program, especially the PPASA, definitely feels like one giant family. We succeed together because we are constantly helping one another; and we are more than happy to help you along your journey as well! - Patricia Cobarrubias
