Danny O’Rourke-DiCarlo is a lecturer in both Public Policy and Criminology. He currently holds a Long-Service Teaching Appointment (LSTA) with the School of Public Policy and Administration. His teaching focuses on the creation, administration and adjudication of constitutional and criminal law in the context of contemporary Canadian politics. His doctoral and continued research interest includes a critical examination of democratic theory via a reconstructive approach to law and deliberative politics. Other related research interests and projects involve the impact of technology on plural policing and the politics of judicial decision making in a ‘post-truth’ era. Danny has published in the areas of policing ethics and has served as a faculty advisor for the YU Criminological Review. While continued public policy and criminological research is central to Danny, his true passion remains engaging with students in the classroom. Danny has been the recipient of teaching awards and has been nominated for the LA&PS Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
