Helen Burstyn, Distinguished Visiting Professor, Ryerson University Faculty of Communications & Design; Chair, Waterfront Toronto, Evergreen & The Walrus Foundation; Principal, Burstyn Inc. Helen Burstyn has had a long and distinguished career in civil society and public service. She has served as chair of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and special advisor to the Government of Ontario on social enterprise. Her volunteer portfolios have included service as Chair of Evergreen Canada and serving as a director of TIFF, the Canadian Opera Company, the Walrus Foundation, the Toronto Public Library Foundation, The Koffler Centre for the Arts and the Learning Partnership. She is also a co-founder and board member of LEAP, the Pecaut Centre for Social Impact and currently serves as the Distinguished Visiting Professor for Social Enterprise at Ryerson University and the Chair of Waterfront Toronto.
