Radha Persaud
Dr. Radha (Radhakrishnan) Persaud holds degrees from the University of Toronto and Queen’s University (Ph.D.). His principal areas of academic interests are Comparative Constitutional Law, Parliamentary Government, American Government, Federalism and Public Policy and Administration. Professor Persaud’s publications are in the areas of Public law and Constitutional Government in parliamentary and federal systems. He has delivered a number of conference presentations in these areas. He is currently working on a manuscript on Judicial Advice as Law: The Supreme Court of Canada, Intergovernmental Conflict Resolution and Constitutional Amendment, 1979 to 2000. As a public intellectual, Dr. Persaud provided advice to former Ontario Lieutenant Governor, David Onley, and to political leaders and officials in other nations on constitutional issues pertaining to the head of state in parliamentary democracies. Professor Persaud has received both the York University-wide and Glendon teaching awards.
