Amuna Baraka-Clarke
Senior Director, People & Culture, LOFT Community Services
Amuna Baraka-Clarke is passionate about access. She has spent three decades strengthening organizational structures and practices through strategic human resources interventions and the engagement of policy. She has had the privilege of serving community in the areas of homelessness, financial literacy, mental health, social justice and legal advocacy. Currently she is the Senior Director, People & Culture at LOFT Community Services, one of Ontario’s largest complex mental health service providers. In this role she helps to foster an environment of continuous improvement, learning and employee engagement. Amuna has held senior leadership positions in the not-for-profit sector for over twenty years, with an eye to dismantling barriers and creating structures for people to participate and be included. Her volunteer work with the city builders at Urban Minds, allows her to support meaningful ways for youth to shape equitable and sustainable cities. Amuna is also a proud York alumni. She completed York’s Master’s degree in Public Policy, Administration and Law, sits on the board of the York University Black Alumni Network and is the inaugural recipient of the Foster – Greene Award for Excellence in Public Policy, Administration and Law.
