Hours of Work: SU 10 hours per week; F/W 12 hours per week


Job Description:

The Events, Media and Projects Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to assist the LA&PS Colleges. 

The Events, Media and Projects Assistant may be required to assist with some of the following tasks:   

  •  Assist students, staff, faculty and the public with general enquires.   
  • Write, edit and format a variety of documents such as newsletters, emails, social media posts, letters, reports, and presentations.   
  • Collect, input and maintain information in spreadsheets and databases.   
  • Assist with the preparation of promotional material and resources for events and initiatives organized by the College. 
  • Provide support to the Colleges at events, including set-up and takedown, checking-in attendees and other logistical assistance as required. 
  • Update contact lists and bulletin boards.   
  • Assist with bulk mailings and hand deliver materials to locations across campus. 
  • Assist with filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing and other administrative duties.   
  • Ensure resources are available in reception area.  
  • Assist with projects as assigned  
  • Other duties as assigned   

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled as a York student.   
  • Previous work experience may be considered.  

Skills

  • Ability to communicate with others to explain and share information   
  • Ability to communicate clearly in written form    
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook or PowerPoint.   
  • Ability to meet deadlines and organize time effectively.   
  • Ability to act with tact and diplomacy towards faculty, staff and students from a wide variety of backgrounds.
