Job Description:
The Events, Media and Projects Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to assist the LA&PS Colleges.
The Events, Media and Projects Assistant may be required to assist with some of the following tasks:
- Assist students, staff, faculty and the public with general enquires.
- Write, edit and format a variety of documents such as newsletters, emails, social media posts, letters, reports, and presentations.
- Collect, input and maintain information in spreadsheets and databases.
- Assist with the preparation of promotional material and resources for events and initiatives organized by the College.
- Provide support to the Colleges at events, including set-up and takedown, checking-in attendees and other logistical assistance as required.
- Update contact lists and bulletin boards.
- Assist with bulk mailings and hand deliver materials to locations across campus
- Assist with filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing and other administrative duties.
- Ensure resources are available in reception area.
- Assist with projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education
- Must be enrolled as a York student.
Skills
- Ability to communicate with others to explain and share information
- Ability to communicate clearly in written form
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook or PowerPoint.
- Ability to meet deadlines and organize time effectively.
- Ability to act with tact and diplomacy towards faculty, staff and students from a wide variety of backgrounds.
