Program Eligibility
LA&PS Summer Study Abroad Courses are intensive, 3-to-6-week courses that consist of a mix of class time at York’s Keele Campus and learning abroad. A full semester of coursework is generally condensed into a shorter timeframe, and as such, participants’ free time will be limited while on the program. Students are selected based on their maturity, willingness to learn and engage, and motivation to participate fully in all aspects of the course, both in classes in Toronto and in their destination country.
Every undergraduate York University student (domestic or international and regardless of faculty or program) in good academic standing is eligible to apply to Summer Study Abroad courses so long as the individual course requirements are met.
Non-York University students are eligible to participate in the LA&PS Summer Study Abroad Program at the discretion of the Course Director if they meet the qualifications of a non-degree visiting student.
General Program Eligibility Requirements
- Students must be at least 18 years of age and have completed at least one year of university by the time they undertake a study abroad course.
- Students that are currently on academic probation will not be accepted into the study abroad program.
- Students must meet the academic pre-requisites outlined on the individual course pages.
- Students must have a valid passport at least 2 weeks before program start date.
