VCP closes out season with 'Show Choir'

York University’s Vanier College Productions (VCP) will present its final performance of the season with Show Choir, which runs March 24 to 26. The VCP will perform its annual show with a mixture of Broadway show tunes and Top 40 hits. Selections will include songs from HamiltonKinky BootsA Chorus LineAmerican IdiotChicago and songs made famous by the likes of Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, ‘NSync, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Queen, and Glass Tiger.

The captivating show will highlight the immense talent at York University. From high-energy dance numbers to moving ballads, Show Choir has something for everyone. Focusing on both current hits and favourites from the past, Show Choir offers audiences a unique experience.

Show Choir is a large ensemble that highlights the importance of community, with a cast and crew made up of York University students and alumni. It is a non-auditioned choir featuring members who come from diverse backgrounds. Show Choir is an important part of VCP’s mandate to give students a chance to flourish in the arts, and encourage students from all walks of life to participate.

Music is directed by Brian Goldenberg, vocals are directed by Morgan Russell and Catherine Bernardi, choreography is by Kristen Freed, and accompaniment is by Athena So and the Show Choir Band.

The show runs at the Fred Thury Studio Theatre in Vanier College on Friday and Saturday at 8pm; Sunday at 2pm. General admission is $25, student price (with student ID) is $15 and child price (under 12) is $10.

Tickets can be purchased online at vcpshowchoir2017.bpt.me until two hours before show time. Tickets can also be purchased at the door (cash only) starting one hour prior to the performance, subject to availability.
