Our volunteer and paid opportunities provide you with hands-on and practical learning in the areas of theatrical production, teamwork, skill building, creativity and community engagement. You will also get the opportunity to create meaningful connections with like-minded peers, grow as an artist and make an income while fulfilling your role for positions that are paid.

Recurring Work Opportunities at VCP

Set Building Crew
Help by creating/building the set/scenery for the upcoming production. Work varies by show and usually includes carpentry (wood, flats, risers), fabrics, and other building materials. Sometimes overlaps/collaborates with Props Crew.
Props Crew
Help by creating/building the props and set dressings (small items that are attached to the set) for the upcoming production. Work varies by show and can include chicken wire, paper mâché, cardboard, fabrics, graphic design, and other building materials. Sometimes overlaps/collaborates with Set Building Crew.
Painting Crew
Help by putting the finishing touches on the various set and prop elements of our shows. From basic painting (ie. cover this piece of wood in blue paint) to more elaborate (specific patterns, images), there are opportunities for all levels of experience.
Costume Crew
Help by creating/building the costumes for the upcoming production. Work varies by show and usually includes sewing and alterations.
Backstage / Production Crew
Help with various show specific production roles that become available throughout the year. Stage Managers, Backstage Crew, Designers, Technicians, Videography, Photography, and Accessibility roles. Box Office / Usher / Front-of-House Staff
Help by signing up for a shift as a Front-of-House or Box Office volunteer for one or more performances. Assist with tickets, snacks, and you get to see the performance for free!
