Iqra Khalid, who is the new Liberal Member of Parliament for the riding of Mississauga-Erin Mills, graduated from York in 2007 with a double major in Criminology and Professional Writing.

As article in the November 9th edition of yFile notes, 17 elective representatives to the Canadian Parliament have connections to York, but as a recent email shared between faculty made clear, it is especially exciting for members of the Professional Writing Program to see how our students are fulfilling their considerable potential.
