“I entered the Jan Rehner Prize for Writing to challenge myself and share my writing with a larger audience,” said Rayhaab Ali, 1st-year winner. “To prepare, I edited my submission and had some friends look over it. When I found out I won in the first-year category, I was thrilled! Entering the Jan Rehner Prize for Writing gave me more confidence in my writing skills and prompted me to pursue an old passion of mine. So, I am now working on a minor in creative writing.”
“I’ve always been committed to improving my writing regardless of whether it receives any ‘formal’ recognition. The Jan Rehner Prize was a welcome reminder that good things happen when you keep setting the bar higher,” said Mihnea Fetila, one of the 3rd year winners.
The Jan Rehner Prize for Writing contest will be back in Fall/Winter 2022- 2023. The Writing Department will announce the next edition of the the Rehner in April 2023. Students can find submission guidelines on the Jan Rehner Prize for Writing page.
