The Writing Centre’s Resources

On our website’s Resources tab, you’ll also find several pages on online resources students can browse and study in their own time. The Videos and Transcripts page contains links to our previous workshops, discussing various writing aspects and techniques.

The External Writing Links will lead you to interactive Writing Labs from Purdue, Harvard and Excelsior College, which covers plagiarism reviews and many more; as well as the York University SPARK Module, a guide to successful academic writing. Also included are MLA and APA Guides and Handouts to help you traverse through research and writing progress.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown’s website has been custom designed by Writing Instructor, Professor Stevie Bell, to provide additional resources for students in navigating the key aspects of university level writing. The site includes informative PowerPoints, interactive example guides, and video tutorials on all the topics necessary for academic writing success.

We encourage you to take advantage of the remaining Winter Schedule which lasts until May 26! We’ll communicate about updates to our programs once the Summer Term schedule kicks in on May 21! Until then please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. We hope to see you all once more in the upcoming weeks!
