Rate of Pay: $19.50
Hours: Fall/Winter Up to 15hrs/week Summer: Up to 35hrs/week

Job Purpose:
The Communications & Marketing Assistant is responsible for research, writing and editing of communications and marketing materials.
Job Duties:
Under the direction of a permanent staff member the Communications & Marketing Assistant may be responsible for some or all the following tasks:
- Assist with the implementation of communications strategies.
- Develop engaging and informational marketing and communications content.
- Write, copy edit, proofread and format content to support a variety of marketing initiatives.
- Assist with creating newsletters, promotional materials or online content in accordance with marketing standards.
- Conduct fact checking and market research to support information gathering and content creation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and inter-departmental teams to support communication initiatives.
- Organize, shoot and edit promotional videos and multimedia productions.
- Provide monthly reporting on communications activities and related information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Skills:
- Must be enrolled as a York student
- Ability to creatively write content to engage an intended audience.
- Ability to meet deadlines and organize time effectively.
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to use research methods to identify and verify information.
- Ability to use social & digital media to effectively communicate or respond to others.
- Ability to use editing software and a variety of computer applications.
- Ability to set up and operate video, photography and other production equipment.
