National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women Memorial
The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women commemorates the tragic mass shooting at l’École Polytechnique in Montréal that left 14 women murdered. In honour of the victims, York University will host a ceremony on Dec. 6. Join us for the livestream on the second floor in Room MK2050 at our Markham Campus.
CTV Toy Mountain Campaign
You're invited to the 29th annual CTV Toy Mountain Campaign, in partnership with The Salvation Army, to support families in need. The event will take place on Thursday, Dec.19 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Academic Success: Support Services
Career Support drop-ins will begin this month! We are offering drop-in sessions 3 days per week at the following times and locations: Monday’s in-person (MK2050) 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday’s in-person (MK 2050) 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday’s virtual via Zoom 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Students who attend a drop-in will receive support with their resume, cover letter or interview preparation. We will not be offering drop-ins during the last two weeks of December for the holidays. Drop-ins will resume on Jan. 6, 2025. Additionally, check out the sessions for peer tutoring and PASS for the month of December.

York University’s Markham Campus opened its doors to the Markham community for its highly anticipated official open house. The event included guided tours a live painting by Colin Arthur, as well as a special appearance by Mayor Frank Scarpitti, the Mayor of Markham.

2024 MC18 Apparel Flash Sale This Week
The 2024 MC18 Apparel Flash Sale takes place this week. For 2024, we are introducing our MC18 X Lulu collection, which features Lululemon’s Soft Jersey items. All proceeds from this sale will go to the Mark Cross Memorial Fund at York University, which help honour Mark’s legacy through providing funds for the MC18 Bursary and the Mark Cross Coaching Honariurm, both of which benefit members of the York Lions Men’s Hockey programme each year.

Olympic & Paralympic Celebration Parade
On Sunday, Sept. 22, the City of Markham is holding a celebration parade in honour of our local Olympic and Paralympic athletes featuring seven-time Olympic medallist Andre De Grasse.
De Grasse became the most decorated Canadian male Olympian of all time when he won the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
The Olympic and Paralympic Celebration Parade will give the public an opportunity to congratulate our Canadian athletes on their outstanding performances in Paris.
