Rate of Pay: $17.20 - $17.50 

Hours: Fall/Winter Up to 15hrs/week Summer: Up to 35hrs/week 

Work Location: York University Markham Campus – 1 University Blvd, Markham, ON 

Job Purpose: 

The Recruitment & Campus Ambassador is responsible for supporting recruitment and outreach initiatives including campus tours, recruitment presentations and orientation activities. 

Job Duties: 

Under the direction of a permanent staff member, the Recruitment & Campus Ambassador may be responsible for some or all the following tasks: 

  • Provide front-line customer service at information desk and respond to enquires.
  • Lead campus tours for prospective and current students. 
  • Assist with the creation and delivery of effective outreach programs including recruitment presentations, information session, and discussion panels. 
  • Promote awareness of resources on campus to support first year student transition.  
  • Keep information desk organized and materials replenished. 
  • Acts as an ambassador and role model by helping students navigate York University’s processes and procedures. 
  • Assist with planning and implementing program initiatives, orientation activities and campus events. 
  • Create program and event materials. 
  • Develop website and social media to share ideas with students, provide information and promote events. 
  • Conduct research and provide input on projects related to campus tours, events and recruitment initiatives. 
  • Collect and document program data, evaluations and participation information. 
  • Assist with special projects and administrative duties. 
  • Attend and participate in regular team meetings. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
