York U resident dog to offer therapy to stressed students
TORONTO, April 6, 2016 – Meet York U’s own resident therapy dog Barnaby. The St. John’s Ambulance certified ‘therapist’ will begin helping students relieve stress starting tomorrow, April 7.
Barnaby will be hanging out at the Scott Library Atrium in the afternoon. The session, organized during winter examination period, is sponsored by York University Libraries and Health Education & Promotion.
Barnaby lives on campus with his owner Tammy Douglas, a residence life coordinator at Bethune and Calumet student residences. Aside from providing stress relief to York University community members, he will also visit community centres in Durham region.
