TORONTO, May 11, 2017 – Since the financial crisis of 2008, the ideas of Karl Marx have enjoyed heightened mainstream interest and this year marks the 150th anniversary of his seminal book, Capital. York University expert Marcello Musto is available to discuss his concepts and what they mean today.
Do Marx’s theories provide a framework for understanding capitalism now and its changing nature?
Marcello Musto, associate professor and organizer of a major conference on Marx, May 24 to 26, can discuss why Marx’s concepts are still relevant today, what his work can offer a disgruntled and shrinking middle class, and how his ideas differ from Marxism-Leninism movements.
