Negotiator for Assembly of First Nations will deliver keynote at York University 2018 Inclusion Day

TORONTO, January 24, 2018 – The Chief Negotiator for the Assembly of First Nations and primary architect of the Truth & Reconciliation Commission in the historic Indian Residential School Settlement Agreement will deliver the keynote address at York University’s Inclusion Day this year.

Kathleen Mahoney, a professor in the Faculty of Law, University of Calgary, will deliver an address titled “Decolonizing Community: Recognition to Action,” on Thursday as part of the ninth annual Inclusion Day celebrations hosted by York’s Centre for Rights, Equity and Inclusion.

Inclusion Day is organized to reflect the university’s ongoing efforts to promote access, equity, diversity and inclusion within the campus community.

Mahoney will also moderate a panel discussion on decolonizing curriculum.
