A visiting student scholar is an international graduate student who studies at York University without the expectation of receiving a degree from the University. A visiting student scholar is considered a visiting student.

Visiting student scholars come to the University to work with a particular faculty member or to satisfy program requirements at their home institution, such as international academic or research experience. The University welcomes many visiting student scholars each year through agreements with partner institutions worldwide.
