Borderless Higher Education for Refugees

The Borderless Higher Education for Refugees (BHER) Project is a consortium of universities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that aim to make educational programs available where refugees need them. The Canadian BHER project is housed and managed at York University with support and oversight from the Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic, the Faculty of Education and the Centre for Refugee Studies.

As a consortium of other universities and NGOs, BHER aims to bring university education to refugees, displaced and war-affected local populations in Kenya, Somalia, and the surrounding region.

BHER is considered a cohort of students.
