A degree is an academic credential awarded upon successful completion of a prescribed set of requirements that meet a standard of performance by York University.
It is also the title conferred on students by a university or professional school on completion of a program (academic) of study.
Standards for various degree types in Ontario are governed by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities through the Ontario Qualifications Framework and by the Postsecondary Quality Assessment Board.
York University offers bachelor, master (see master's program) and doctoral (see doctoral program) degrees.
