Human Resources status defines whether an employee currently has a relationship with York University. The primary statuses are of active and inactive for each employee record number.

HR Status determines whether the employee still has a relationship with York University. If the status is active the employee continues to have a relationship with the University. An employee can be on a leave of absence without pay, at which time their payroll status will be inactive, however their HR status remains active.

When employees are terminated, retired or deceased, their HR status becomes inactive. 

Human Resources status is a subset of employment status.
