Payroll status is a subset of employment status and it is associated with each employee record number. A payroll status is the result of a specific job-related action with an associated action code (Human Resources). Each action code may cause a change in payroll status and/or Human Resources status.

Examples of Payroll Statuses:

  • Active
  • Leave of Absence Without Pay
  • Retired

Examples of Action Codes:

  • When the action code is 'Hire':
    Payroll Status = Active 
    Human Resources Status = Active
  • When the action code is 'Terminated':
    Payroll Status = Terminated
    Human Resources = Inactive
  • When the action code is 'Data Change' this signifies changes to the employee’s job data that will not affect the Payroll Status and Human Resources
