The contract type differentiates between the attributes of employment contracts at York University. The general ledger pay type of each job record conveys the attributes of the contract, including:

• employee type (regular or temporary)

• faculty or non-faculty

• tenure (for faculty)

• number of hours worked/part-time or full-time status (for staff)

• length of contract for temporary employees, including concurrent assignments and administrative appointments

Each job that the employee holds will have its own contract type. There is an existing set of defined contracts with the applicable attributes mentioned above.
