Temporary Number (500 Series)
Synonym(s): N/A
A temporary number (500 Series) is a common York identification number used as part of the onboarding process for employees. This is primarily for part-time faculty at York to quickly access systems in the onboarding process.
Part-time faculty, who are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), typically start their onboarding process through the Academic Resource Management System (ARMS) with a 500 number.
When data is transmitted from ARMS to the Human Resources Management (HRM) system for the first time, a relationship is built between the employee number and the temporary number. There is no employee number until the data is transmitted through integration.
