Custom Grade Point Average

Custom Grade Point Average

Synonym(s): Custom GPA, Special Grade Point Average, Special GPA

A custom grade point average is an average calculation for a specific program (academic). Instead of using the standard method to calculate grade point average, a custom method is used, and the average is recorded.

An example is the Faculty-wide degree requirement for most 2000-, 3000-, and 4000-level Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) courses. These courses require a custom, cumulative grade point average of 4.50 or better over all completed EECS courses as a prerequisite for enrolment.
