An underrepresented student is a student who is from an equity-deserving group with insufficient or inadequate representation in various aspects of York University life. Representation levels are usually determined by comparing the group's proportion in the broader Canadian society to representation at the University. In the University setting, other considerations may override strictly proportional representation.
