Parking Rate Adjustment Effective May 1, 2025

York University will implement adjustments to parking rates effective May 1, 2025. These changes, approved by the Board of Governors on February 25, 2025, represent the first rate adjustment since 2016.

Background 

Despite rising operational costs over the past nine years, parking rates at York University have remained unchanged since 2016. During this period, the University has faced increased expenses related to maintenance, safety upgrades, and staffing while experiencing revenue impacts, including from an 18-month suspension of parking fees during the pandemic. 

Rate Adjustments 

The following adjustments will take effect on May 1, 2025: 

Permit Rates (Monthly, excludes tax)

  • Outer Reserved: $116.48 
  • Reserved: $132.24 
  • Garage: $149.76 
  • Lower Level Glendon: $90.72 

Multipack Rates (30 Day, includes tax)

  • Surface: $114.00 
  • Garage: $140.40 

Weekend Daily Rates

Weekend rates (Saturday/Sunday) will align with current weekday rates to ensure consistency among user groups. Please visit our website for lot-specific hourly and daily maximum rates.

These adjustments will help Parking Services: 

  • Address rising operational costs due to inflation 
  • Fund essential maintenance and safety upgrades 
  • Address the deficit resulting from the pandemic 
  • Align with York University's sustainability goals by ensuring parking costs are consistent with public transit options
