Markham Parking FAQ

Paid parking in the Remington and Markham Accessibility lot will be in effect September 1, 2024.

The Remington parking lot is at 436 Enterprise Blvd, approximately 750 meters from the Markham Campus or a 7–10-minute walk.

The Markham Accessibility Lot is located at the rear of the Markham Campus building in the northeast corner.

Parking for the Markham campus is only permitted in the Remington lot or the Markham accessibility lot, with the appropriate accessibility placard and payment. Parking is prohibited in the Pan Am Centre, YMCA, or Go Station lots at all times.

You have the following parking options in the Remington Lot, depending on your requirements.

Daily/Hourly – pay by the hour or day as required.

Monthly Subscription Permit Parking

  • Equivalent to a sessional or continuous monthly parking permit. Purchased through HONK Mobile ($104.00 + tax) plus the HONK administrative fee/month.
  • Monthly subscriptions are based on calendar month and automatically renew on the 28th of each month until cancelled.
  • Cancellation requests must be submitted through the HONK App by the 3rd business day of the month. Requests not received by this date, will be applied to the following month’s subscription.

Provides access to all outer reserved permit lots at Keele and the lower lot at Glendon, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Multi-Pack Parking

  • A flexible pre-paid pass offering 10 full-day parking sessions, usable within a 30-day period from the purchase date. Purchased through HONK Mobile ($100.00 including tax) plus the HONK administrative fee. Provides access to all surface daily pay lots at Keele and Glendon campuses, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Faculty, instructors, staff and students primarily based at Markham Campus must purchase parking through HONK, similar to the process at Keele and Glendon campuses. Each location has its own financial cost centers, therefore funds need to remain within each campus. If you are currently a Keele or Glendon permit holder and will be transferring to Markham Campus, you must cancel your current permit and purchase a Markham Campus permit. Continuous permit cancellations and regular refund policies apply.

The Remington Lot is operated by a third party and does not have access to the Parking Services database. As a result, the exact practices cannot be duplicated. Monthly permits offer additional flexibility, eliminate the need for refunds, and allow options to start and stop as required.

Monthly subscriptions are based on a calendar month and automatically renew on the 28th of the month until cancelled. There is no requirement to renew monthly.

Cancellation requests must be submitted through the HONK App by the 3rd business day of the month. Requests not received by this date will be applied to the following month’s subscription.

If you need to travel between campuses, we suggest that you utilize the available shuttles as a convenient, cost effective, sustainable travel option. There are multiple shuttles that travel between Keele and Markham, and Glendon and Keele.  Please visit the Transportation website for shuttle times.

There will be a daily shuttle running between Markham and Keele, and Keele and Glendon campuses. Shuttle schedules are available on the Transportation website. If you have paid to park at Remington/Markham accessibility lots, there are specific lots/areas at Keele and Glendon where you can park with your daily payment, monthly subscription permit or your Multi-pack.

If you need to be on the Markham campus, contact Parking Services in advance (the day before) to obtain a HONK code for the Remington Lot. Without this code, you will be required to pay at the Remington Lot as Enforcement does not have the ability to recognize your Keele/Glendon permit, and you will be subject to parking infractions. Alternatively, you can pay the hourly/daily rate through HONK for the Remington Lot.

Please call Keele Parking Services for all your questions.  They can be reached by phone at 416-736-5335, or by email at parking@yorku.ca or by visiting our website and requesting to speak to a live agent via Zoom.

The Remington Parking Lot is monitored by CCTV and has 7 Blue Light Emergency phones available. If an incident or emergency occurs, please call 911 immediately or use one of the emergency phones in the lot to be connected to Remington’s security company. Additionally, we recommend following up with the Markham Security Department at 416-650-8000 so they can provide further assistance and follow up with any additional client services.
