Anti-Black racism is a serious and systemic problem that exists in our society, and York University acknowledges its responsibility to help build more equitable and inclusive communities. We know that the verdict delivered in Minneapolis helps mark an important moment in building a more just society, but it must also serve to inspire meaningful action in Canada, the United States, and around the world. A just verdict does not and cannot replace a life. We stand with Black community members in the ongoing fight to end racism and hate.
York’s anti-Black racism framework and draft action plan signal our strong commitment to addressing systemic anti-Black racism and building a more equitable society. To learn more about this ongoing work, please visit: https://www.yorku.ca/abr/
