Procurement Services administers the Purchasing Card (PCard) and Travel Visa® Card (Travel Card) programs. US Bank of Canada is the VISA® provider for both of York University’s credit card programs.
Purchasing Card (PCard) Program
Travel Visa Card (Travel Card) Program
The PCard is a convenient and efficient method of acquiring low value goods and services directly from vendors.
A PCard allows the holders to:
- Make low value transactions without a Payment Requisition or Purchasing Requisition
- Obtain goods faster
Individuals eligible to apply for the Travel Visa® card include full-time appointed academic, professional, and managerial staff, who are required to travel regularly on behalf of the University.
The Travel Card eliminates the need for the holder to:
- Use personal funds at the time of purchase and seek reimbursement
- Apply for advances to support travel plans
Travel Advances
York encourages the use of the Travel Card for all travel-related expenses. In cases where the Travel Card cannot be used (due to the nature of the purchase, timeframe of purchase or otherwise) a cash advance may be issued. A request for cash advance is submitted through Concur, the University automated travel and expense system. Cash advance requests should be submitted to Finance no less than seven (7) days prior to the date when the funds are needed. It is the responsibility of the travelers to clear advances within 14 days of their return by submitting an expense claim through Concur.
