Digital currencies have revolutionized our notions of money. This innovation has became an issue of national importance as it facilitates new economic interactions and linkages affecting the economy as a whole. We believe that our research will impact not just companies, governments, and academia, but also the everyday lives of Canadians.

We aim to investigate object-based digital currencies such as cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) to inform policy and support decision making for central banks including Bank of Canada, financial institutions, fintech companies, and other key stakeholders.
