Camila Bonifaz
Financial and Administrative Officer
Camila Bonifaz is a Financial Assistant working with Research Accounting, Payroll, Office of Research Services, and the teams of the Building Migrant Resilience in Cities (BMRC) partnership to support the timely and effective financial administration of the project.
In addition to working for BMRC, Camila is the Program Coordinator of York University’s Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean (CERLAC), Canada’s oldest and largest LAC research centre. Camila also plays a key role in operations at the Canadian Association for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CALACS), where she manages the planning and coordination of CALACS’ annual Congress. Camila came to York with an array of experiences in coordinating program, project, and grant operations, including at TechSoup Canada and the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI), both Toronto-based social enterprises. She also worked as Program Coordinator for the Climate Program and theInformation Program at the World Resources Institute (WRI), a global research organization in Washington, DC.
Camila holds a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto.

Patricia Walker
BMRC Research Project Manager
Patricia is the Research Project Manager for the Building Migrant Resilience in Cities/ Immigration et resilience en milieu urbain (BMRC/IMRU) research partnership.
Prior to the BMRC/IMRU partnership, Patricia served as a Research Assistant for the QES-AS Climate Justice project at York University. Over the last decade, she has worked for several research institutes at York University providing project coordination, website development, and grant writing assistance.
In the past, Patricia worked as a Grant Writing Assistant at the Centre for Refugee Studies and the former York Institute for Health Research. In addition, she acted as Research Project Coordinator for an IDRC-funded Climate Change in Africa Project at the former Institute for Research and Innovation in Sustainability.
Patricia holds a Masters in Environmental Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Environmental/Sustainability Education from York University. Her research has focused on the agency, adaptive capacity, resilience, and vulnerability of Canadian children and youth (including young immigrants) to climate change.

Emily Baldesarra
Knowledge Mobilization and Communications Assistant
Emily is the Knowledge Mobilization and Communications assistant for the Building Migrant Resilience in Cities/ Immigration et resilience en milieu urbain (BMRC/IMRU) research partnership. She joined this project in June 2023.
Emily is a 4th year undergraduate student at York University who is majoring in Geography (Hons.) with a minor in French. After her undergraduate studies, she will earn a Bachelor of Education through York University’s Faculty of Education. Her research interests include feminist geographies as well as transportation and labour geographies.
