Ron Owston, professor of education, director of the Institute for Research on Learning Technologies (IRLT), and co-director of the Technology Enhanced Learning Institute (TELi), spoke to teachers last week about his research in education, professional learning, and technology.
Owston’s presentation was part of a leadership symposium hosted by Advanced Broadband Enabled Learning (ABEL), which supports the effective use of new and existing information communications technologies to encourage innovation. ABEL is jointly sponsored by York University and the Toronto District School Board.
ABEL’s annual one-day symposium prepares leaders to embrace the needs of the 21st century learner and the role that technology plays in supporting effective instructional practice.
The presentation runs for approximately 40 minutes.
