The Office of Research Services (ORS) provides a full suite of services to York faculty members in their pursuit of research, scholarship and creative endeavours.
From application to award, we help York’s research community optimize their productivity and achieve impact.
Faculty Research Offices
Faculty-based research offices (or grant development specialists) are a faculty member's first point of contact for research services at York, facilitating and advising on the grant application process, developing and advising on budgets, and administering faculty awards. They are the frontline of research services at the University and act as liaisons to ORS.
For any initial research questions or inquiries, faculty should contact their research officer first, who will then assist you or direct you to the appropriate ORS contact if needed.
Grants & Applications
Grants & Applications provides support to researchers in applying for external research funding, reviews grant applications, shares funding opportunities, and maintains high-quality research data. We also support internal review committees.

Strategic and Institutional Research Initiatives (SIRI)
The SIRI unit provides strategic support and advice to faculty on large-scale (over $1M) and institutional grants, as well as supporting high-profile research awards, chairs, and prizes. SIRI facilitates peer-review of institutional grants and also organizes review for the Major Awards Advisory Committee, the Strategic and Opportunity Review Team and the Research Chairs Advisory Committee.
