Institute for Social Research is the leading university-based survey research organization of its kind in Canada. For over 50 years, it has over time built a reputation for high-quality surveys, which are conducted primarily through computer-assisted telephone interviews, web-based self-administered surveys, focus groups, and mail-in surveys.
These surveys have increasingly involved complex sample designs and survey weighting as well as data collection and data analysis. The research findings of many of these surveys are represented in publications by researchers at other institutions as the source of the data collection. Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) researchers alone for example cite ISR survey research in 100 plus publications per year plus many media reports.
