About the Challenge
At SmartTO, we are driving innovation in Ontario’s transportation and mobility sectors. The SmartTO Innovation Challenge invites industry experts, academia, companies, and partners to engage in open ideation to identify key industry challenges. Once the challenge statement is selected, SMEs and startups will submit their solutions. The competition will culminate with a final event in March 2025, showcasing transformative ideas with the selection of a winner.

The Process
As part of the Innovation Challenge, SmartTO engaged its network of experts in a preliminary ideation process that identified six key challenges. We are now reaching out to our broader network to help refine and evolve these ideas. Once the challenge statement is selected, applications will open for companies to submit their innovative solutions.

3. Challenge
The problem statement that meet the challenge criteria best, will be selected for the competition.
