Canadian Studies Essay and Dissertation Prize Winners Announced

The winners for the Odessa Prize for the Study of Canada and the Barbara Godard Prize for the Best York University Dissertation in Canadian Studies have been announced.

The 2014-15 winner of the Odessa Prize is Jesse Thistle (History) for his essay, “We are children of the river’: Toronto’s Lost Métis History.”

The 2014 winner of the Barbara Godard Prize is Ameil Joseph (School of Social Work) for his dissertation, “Authorities on the Subject: Deportation and the confluence of violence within forensic mental health and immigration systems.”
