Building on Resiliency: Navigating War and Migration Related Trauma”

Building on Resiliency addresses the unique challenges experienced by children, youth, and their families who have been affected by war or political conflict and migration. It discusses their feelings of their painful past, a confusing presence, and uncertainty about their future. The goals of this conference are to increase awareness, understanding and coping strategies for families impacted by pre and post migration stress. This conference also aims to identify the existing gaps in services for this category of vulnerable population and promote skill development for service practitioners.

Keynote speaker: Lieutenant General, The Honourable Roméo Dallaire, (Ret’d) Lieutenant General, The Honourable Roméo Dallaire, (Ret’d), author of “They Fight Like Soldiers, They Die Like Children” and “Shake Hands with the Devil: the Failure of Humanity in Rwanda” and former member of the Senate of Canada.
