The History of Indigenous Peoples’ Network is proud to announce our next workshop on Tuesday, October 27th at 2:00pm on the 7th Floor of the Kaneff Tower, featuring Professor Brenda Child of the University of Minnesota. She will be workshopping the first two chapters of her award winning book “My Grandfathers Knocking Sticks: Ojibwe Family Life and Labour on the Reservation”. We will discuss the following attached chapters: Knocking Sticks Chapter Excerpt (PDF)

Brenda Child is a professor of American Studies and American Indian Studies at the University of Minnesota. She is the author of Boarding School Seasons: American Indian Families, 1900-1940 and Away From Home: American Indian Boarding School Experiences, 1879-2000 among other works.
