A message from the Robarts Director, Dr Gabrielle Slowey:
As you may know, in 2017 Canada will mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation. This is our celebration! How will we join Canadians taking part from coast to coast to coast? As the Director of the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies at York, I want to let you know that we are here to support you and the Canada 150 adventure that awaits you.
More specifically, I’d like to draw your attention to two important upcoming grant competitions and deadlines:
1) Heritage Canada funding for projects over $50,000 – June 2016 deadline
2) SSHRC funding through their 150 initiative – Deadlines beginning August 1, 2016
If any Robarts associates are interested in applying I would ask that you think of running the grant applications through the Robarts Centre or perhaps consider our Centre as a way to centralize any projects that might come from different disciplines. We have extensive experience and are here to help you in any way we can. I think it would also bolster our chances if we try to coordinate projects rather than compete amongst ourselves.
Robarts is an ideal venue at York to lead its 150 celebrations and we hope we can assist and facilitate your work in any way. Please do not hesitate to reach out and contact us if you have any further questions.
Best,
Gabrielle Slowey
