Opportunity: Postdoctoral Position in Arctic Studies

A postdoctoral opportunity has been announced by the ARTICentre in the Department of Geography at the University of Northern Iowa (Cedar Falls, Iowa, USA).

The ARCTICenter in the Department of Geography, University of Northern Iowa invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position in Arctic Studies. Postdoctoral scholar assists with the direction and implementation of research projects and other programmatic activities at the center with a focus on urban sustainability in the Arctic, economic development, natural resources and population dynamics in northern regions; pursues individual research in social indicators, sustainability sciences and/or disciplinary scholarship; conducts applied and methodological research (quantitative, qualitative or mixed-methods) in a highly collaborative setting; collaborates with researchers from other institutions and participates in NSF grant activities; receives training and assists with report and proposal writing; performs integrative educational activities; conducts grant related outreach, communication and reporting; and trains and supervises graduate and undergraduate-level students.

Arctic, Remote and Cold Territories Interdisciplinary Center (ARCTICenter) is a hub for Arctic social and sustainability sciences research and the home for the International Arctic Social Sciences Association Secretariat. Postdoc will work under the direction of Dr. Andrey N. Petrov, IASSA President and ARCTICenter Director.
