Koustab Majumdar

Koustab Majumdar, MPhil, PhD, teaches Rural and Tribal Development at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute’s (RKMVERI) Ranchi campus in India. He was a Visiting Scholar (Post-Doc) at the International Center for Cultural Studies (ICSS), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan. Dr. Majumdar received the Taiwan Fellowship (2023) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), China (Taiwan), for post-doctoral research on Comparative Indigenous Social Welfare Policy at ICSS_NYCU. He served as a research associate at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and RKMVERI. Dr. Majumdar secured a tuition fee scholarship (2019) for Chula Right Livelihood Summer School, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. He is associated with many journals and a few edited book projects (Living Reference) as a reviewer. His forthcoming book includes “Indigenization Discourse in Social Work: International Perspectives” (Springer Cham). Furthermore, Dr. Majumdar is collaborating on edited and authored book projects with Routledge, Springer, and Oxford University Press. Majumdar’s research spans rural transformation, social work education, international social work, poverty and inequality, social policy, social problems and social change. He’s affiliated with numerous international bodies like Development Studies Association (UK, Canada, India), Research Centre for Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE), University of Guelph, Canada, International Consortium for Social Development (ICSD), and UNESCO Inclusive Policy Lab.
